Announcing our Newest Package

The Knights Inn Traverse City is proud to offer our new "Special Occasion Package!"  It features a bottle of Old School White wine from Peninsula Cellars, and a box of four handmade chocolates from the Chocolate Den. You can also take advantage of a noon checkout to allow you to enjoy your stay for a little longer. All of our standard in-room amenities are still available, including our expanded continental breakfast.

You can add the Special Occasion Package to any room for an additional cost of $25. This package is only available by calling a guest services representative today. An advanced notice of 48 hours is required.

Cherry Capital WinterWoWFest!

A President's Day Weekend tradition, the Cherry Capital WinterWoWFest is the premiere winter time festival in northern Michigan. Festival goers can enjoy several events that highlight our winter wonderland.

The Frozen Bed Race, Monster Dog Pull and Coed Snow Ball Softball Tournament are just a few of the headlining events that make this festival a cannot miss event. There will also be ice and snow carvings throughout the downtown area, skiing and tubing at the Shanty Creek and Grand Traverse Resorts, and a beer/entertainment tent in downtown Traverse City. This year also features a brand new event called the EpicHappens Downtown Throwdown Rail Jam, promising excitement for all ages.

The Cherry Capital WinterWoWFest has so much to offer that it is hard to list all the events, so take a look at the festival website for a schedule and description of all the activities.

The VASA race has become a treasured event for the northern Michigan region. The weekend features many cross country ski races for all skills levels and ages. Hundreds of spectators also come to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Pere Marquette State Forest. This is a great event for all Nordic ski enthusiasts!

The Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula will hosting a weekend devoted to Riesling varietal. Food parings and special tastings will be conducted at each of the seven wineries on the Old Mission Peninsula.

The Traverse City area has a vast selection of great restaurants and eateries, offering a variety of items to tempt the pallete. This electic variety of food offerings was highlighted in September 2010 when Bon Appetit Magazine named Traverse City as one of America's Top Five "Foodie Towns." The First Annual TC Restaurant was created to help diners have an opportunity to try new restaurants or enjoy their favorites at an affordable price. Many restaurants will be offering three course meals at $25 per person. This is an event that is sure to satisfy any appetite! Traverse City Comedy Arts Festival

Do you need a cure for a bad case of cabin fever this winter? If you believe "laughter is the best medicine," then we have the event for you...the Second Annual Traverse City Comedy Arts Festival! This four day event is sure to be a big hit with some of the nation's top comedians performing at venues throughout downtown, and some classic comedies shown on the big screen at the State Theater.

This year the festival will be headlined by Bob Sagot, Caroline Rhea, Comedy Central Roast Master Jeffery Ross and Michael Moore. That's right, even the producer, writer and festival founder is joining this year's acts by starring in his own stand-up show. This years list also includes the return of the "Comedy4Kids" act that is an awesome show for families to enjoy on Saturday afternoon.

The festival will run from February 10-13th. Tickets for all of the events will be on sale beginning on January 30th at the festival's website or at the State Theater box office. They range in price from free to $30 for the Bob Sagot performance. Festival organizers have made sure that there are events at the festival that can be attended by all regardless of financial concerns. 2010 Best New Property of the Year Award Winner

We are proud to announce that Knights Inn Traverse City has been named as the 2010 Best New Property of the Year by the Knights Inn Franchise System and parent company, Wyndham Hotel Group. The award recognizes the Knights Inn that has displayed the highest commitment to the overall guest experience of any property with less than two years of operation.

General Manager Jeremy Martinchek accepted the award on September 21st in Las Vegas, NV at the Wyndham Hotel Group's Global Conference, on behalf of the entire Knights Inn Traverse City team. The honor was based upon quality assurance inspection scores, overall improvements to the property during renovations and high guest satisfaction scores. The property was also scored on the marketing of the hotel, and the promotion of the Wyndham brand.

Wyndham Hotel Groups conference featured more than 5800 hotel owners and managers from almost 7200 properties worldwide. While at the conference, attendees were able to take part in educational seminars, interact with fellow owners/operators, and attend one of the largest trade shows in the industry.

The Knights Inn Traverse City team is very proud of the accomplishment and would like to personally recognize the many guests who we have had the privilege to welcome over the last 20 months. We look forward to having them back, and to meeting some "new friends" who will take the opportunity to enjoy our award winning hotel and the beautiful Traverse City area.

December 31st Annual Cherry-T Ball Drop

Downtown Traverse City will come alive to ring in 2011! The festivities include a live band and a large crane will drop the cherry to signify the end of the year. All the fun will be located on Front St. in downtown TC. There is no admission to the event, but Goodwill Idustries will be on-hand to collect donations for the local needy. Getting Ready for the Holidays!

Can you believe the calendar says “November” already? We saw our first flakes this week and it is a sure sign that winter is coming!

As much as the 80 degree temperatures of July might sound good right now, the beautiful winter season in Traverse City is another part of what makes this area unique. It may just be time to get the skies out and waxed, the snowmobile tuned up, and the snowsuits out of storage, so we can start enjoying our “winter wonderland of snow.”

Speaking of a “winter wonderland of snow,” we all are preparing for the holiday shopping season. This time is so much fun because all of our merchants decorate their store fronts, and really welcome the magic of the season. Wow! Fall is here in Traverse City, and judging by the colors on the trees, we might have one of the prettiest displays of autumn reds and yellows we have seen in the last few years! That means it is time to plan that mid-week getaway to see the array of colors, and of course to come and see us.

New Desks and Chairs

Just in case work follows you on your vacation, there is a little help on the way. We are pleased to announce our Two Queen and King Jacuzzi units now feature a chair and custom made desk in the room for your comfort.

All of the desks were hand crafted , locally and match the finish of our cherry wood furniture. These new desks will provide a space for catching up on paperwork, or to write a postcard to relatives to tell them how much you are enjoying Traverse City.

The need for a writing surface was one the best ideas that we received from our guests and we are happy to make them an additional amenity in our rooms.
