New Website is Up and Running!
In addition to our first newsletter, the Knights Inn Traverse City is pleased to announce a launching of our newly redesigned website: www.knightsinn-tc.com
The new site includes new colors schemes, layouts, pictures and links that are intended to present our guests with a better sense of the uniqueness of our hotel and the Traverse City region. Some of the new features include a gallery of hotel pictures, more in-depth descriptions of our room types, an up-to-date listing of current specials and packages, and new links for local attractions.
There is one upgrade that we are very excited about: the ease at which our guests can navigate the site and make reservations online. Our new format will allow you to bring up our current availability, along with general hotel information, at the click of a mouse.
As we proceed, we will be adding and updating features on the site, so please check back often!
Monthly Feature: Wineries of Old Mission Peninsula
The Traverse City region is known for its breathtaking scenery, crystal blue waters, unique shops and eateries, winter activities and, of course...cherries! But many guests to the area are also discovering another part of our landscape; the beautiful vineyards of this regions' wineries. In this month's feature article, we highlight the wineries of the Old Mission Peninsula.
The Old Mission Peninsula is a 22 mile body of land that “seperates” Grand Traverse Bay into East Bay and West Bay. Rolling hills and miles of beachfront homes dot the landscape, along with the Old Mission Lighthouse Park at the very northern tip. Along with these hills and homes, are seven wineries that feature several varietals of grapes.
The waters of both bays help to create a sort of shield against frost in the fall and winter, along with helping to control the pace of budding in the springtime. In the winter, the water spawns many heavy lake-effect snows that provide a blanket of insulation for the vines.
All seven of the wineries have been recognized with several international awards for their wine production. Each winery is open year round so that guests may taste these award winning wines, often for no charge. There are also a few that will offer a tour of the wine making facility for guests during the season, or by appointment for groups. For more information on these wineries please feel free to visit the Wineries of Old Mission website: www.wineriesofoldmission.com
Oh, and don't worry...there are some local transportation businesses that would be pleased to set-up provide you and your guests with a “designated driver!” Feel free to give one of our representatives a call and we can recommend some possible drivers for your group.
